Kate Schweitzer

Kate Schweitzer is an American-born artist and self-portrait photographer whose work explores the human condition through a unique medium—a 1960s PhotoMe Photo Booth.

Her images capture the delicate balance between fragility and resilience, using the fixed, unchanging space of the photo booth to explore the tension between constraint and freedom.

Kate’s work visually translates individual emotional experiences, inviting viewers to reflect on the ways we confront vulnerability and beauty within adversity. Her art emanates a quiet strength, often coaxing glimmers of light from the shadows. She currently resides in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she continues her practice, alongside her husband, Peter, and their sons, Arlo and Otis.
